What we do

Here at Thinkhouse Automation Limited, we are one of the very few companies who design, supply, install, commission and maintain all of our systems ourselves in the UK. We really are a one stop shop for everything to do with building automation.

Unlike most other companies here at Thinkhouse Automation Limited, we don’t just carry out installations on new builds or whole refurbishments, we also retro fit our products in homes which are not being refurbished.

We’re with you every step of the way from the initial consultation to maintaining your system years after completion.

Step 1 – Initial consultation / site visit

After first contact we will arrange to carry out a site visit to go through your ideas, plans, requirements and budget for your project. Once we have an idea of what you require we can suggest systems and technologies which might be of interest to you.

Step 2 – Design and quotation

Once we know your requirements and budgets we can carry out a basic room by room design and then give you a full itemised quotation for the works, we can then sit down and talk about each system in detail and you are free to ask as many questions as you want.

Step 3 – Installation

Once you are happy with the design you can complete your order by paying a deposit. We will then, finalise the technical design and pass the project on to our installation team.

Your project will be allocated a:

  • Project manager to oversee the full project from start to finish.
  • Contracts supervisor – who deals with all the day to day items i.e. programming, health and safety, quality control, client’s issues.
  • Site manager – Who will be site based through out the project from start to finish and will liaise with the main contractor and other trades and manage our various installation teams.
  • Installation teams – We use various installation teams for different items of the installation.

Sometimes it is best at this stage to go through the installation with your architect and / or interior designer if they are being used on the project.

Step 4 – Commissioning

When the installation is complete, our commissioning engineer will then spend time with you going through all your requirements for all your installations, he will then personalise each item to your specification.

Step 5 – Training

We will then demonstrate the system to you and show you how to use everything yourself.

Step 6 – Hand over

Once you are happy with the installation and both with how it is installed and how to operate it, we will hand over all certificates, instructions and as fitted drawings to you in the form of a building manual.

Step 7 – After sales

In the price, we include two after sales visits by our commissioning engineer, to be arranged at your convenience. We suggest the first should be at about the 10 week stage, once you have lived in the property and you might want different moods / scenes changing or installing. The next visit would be after twelve months to make sure again that you're happy with your settings and to remedy any defects that might have occurred.
